Dynamed

DynaMed is a clinical reference tool provided by the Arizona Health Sciences Library-Phoenix.  This reference system contains clinically organized summaries of nearly 2,000 topics and is updated daily from review of the research literature.

To setup the DynaMed PDA module you must obtain a serial number from the AHSL Phoenix: 602-827-2062 or JDDoyle@email.arizona.edu

ePocrates

Mobile Drug Guide

Free download; can upgrade for extra features.

  1. Before downloading software you must create an account
  2. Go to: ePocrates

Select Download icon and provide information  regarding Type of Mobile Device and Computer

  1. If you are a returning user you’ll be prompted to login otherwise complete the registration form to create your Epocrates account (username, password, e-mail account, etc.).  Your account information will be e-mailed to the address provided.
  2. Select installation destination.  It is recommended that you install the software to a memory card if one is available.  Select Continue.
  3. You will be prompted again to login with your newly created username/password in order to complete the download process.
  4. Prompted to verify e-mail address.
  5. Select Download and follow screen prompts.  You will have the option to download free software in addition to Epocrates.

EVPxDx

EVPxDx is an application used to record procedures and diagnoses during patient interactions.

Available through the E*Value System.  For setup, your E*Value login ID and password is required.

Group on Immunization Education of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine

Shots 2007 is a quick reference guide to the 2007 Childhood Immunization Schedule, a collaboration of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and the 2006-2007 Adult Immunization Schedule, recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). Details on each vaccine are available by clicking on the vaccine names.

There are two software downloads available:

  • -Shots 2007 with Pictures (high resolution)
  • -Shots 2007 (low resolution)

Select Download; Save to disk; Unzip installation file and follow prompts.


Johns Hopkins Point-of-Care Antibiotics Guide

The Antibiotic Guide is a decision support tool intended to provide clinicians with concise, digested, timely information about the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. The information is arranged to be clinically useful at the point of care.

Free Trial available through Skyscape

  1. Go to ABX Guide website at Skyscape
  2. Select ABX Guide free trial.
    First time users must create a Skyscape account. Select Create Account link.
  3. Create account (username, password, specialty, etc.).
  4. Select Click Here in Welcome Message box to download software and follow prompts to save file.
  5. Select ABXGuide you just saved and allow installer to guide you through the rest of the installation.

Note: The ABX Guide free trial is available for Palm OS, Windows Mobile, Pocket PC and Smartphone devices. Free trials are not available for BlackBerry or Symbian devices.
